Why Are Mice Around My Home or Business?

Mice are constantly looking for food, water and protected places to nest. Small gaps around foundations, garages, utility lines, doors and other openings can give them a way inside.

Around Southern Colorado, colder weather can push mice toward homes and buildings, but rodent problems can happen any time of year. Once inside, they may nest in walls, garages, crawlspaces, storage areas and other quiet spaces.

Seeing droppings, hearing scratching noises or finding chewed materials can all be signs of mouse activity.

We look for possible entry points and conditions contributing to the problem. When appropriate, we can seal smaller openings and recommend solutions for larger areas that need repair.

Signs You May Have a Mouse Problem

Mice aren't always seen running across the floor. Often, the first signs are droppings in cabinets, garages or storage areas, scratching noises inside walls or ceilings, chewed food packages, nesting material or a musty odor in areas where they're active.

Finding one mouse can also mean there are others nearby. Because mice can use small openings to get into a building, figuring out where they're getting in can be just as important as dealing with the mice already inside.

Think you may have mice? Call or text BugZout at 719-315-1688 and tell us what you're seeing.
